Google's 'Min Mode' for Always-on Display Mode Spotted in Development on Android 17: Report

Google is reportedly to be working to modify the AOD feature in Android 17. 'Min Mode' could allow third-party apps to display their own persistent, minimalist interfaces. Google Maps is expected to use this feature first.
