Apple and Ireland tax saga finally ends with $15 billion escrow withdrawal

Ireland's Department of Finance confirmed in May 2025 that it will move the entire escrow fund into the state's treasury. Apple originally deposited the money in 2018 after a European Commission ruling. Ireland couldn't use the funds while appeals continued.
